Product first, merchant second
A product is an independent editorial entity. Merchant offers attach to it; they do not define it. We prefer an official maker or publisher page for identity and use JAN/EAN or catalog numbers to prevent duplicate records.
- Canonical source recorded
- Identifiers matched
- Merchant offer stored separately
- No automatic publication from a feed
Rights are a publication gate
A publicly visible image is not automatically reusable. Every production asset needs a source, a named rights basis, an attribution decision, and explicit permission for distribution. When those rights are unavailable, we use owned editorial artwork that does not pretend to be product photography.
Publication is deliberate
Real status, original editorial context, source evidence, distributable media, an identifier, and a verified offer are checked before publication. Indexing is a second approval. A published proof can remain noindex while technical and editorial review continues.
